I am curious what could be wrong with my bobcat. It smokes a lot when under load and it lugs and smokes when driving up hills and such. It's dark black smoke. It has 3500 hours on it. Thanks

Is it turbo charged? is it using oil? how hard are you pushing it to make it smoke?
Its possibly as simple as a leaky injector causing it to not burn the fuel completely.
Have you changed your air filters?

i know iam beating a dead horse but what are the codes? has proper maint been done if youre going into shut down for dirty air filters , you shot youreself in the foot. yea i know it sucks 18 dollar filter 8000. eng but that is truth as truth is.

please follow up. as a tech i need to know? are we having unexpected faiulires.. no one knows you .if you did shoot yourself in the foot others can benfit. please share,

R the air filters good. This machine has a dutze engine. I would check the turbo first. Pull the intake hose to turbo. Then give it the wiggle test. If the shaft seems to grind, pushing or pulling. Doute it's the timing belt. BUT the tenion/idler NEEDS to be checked.
