The tapered end of the crankshaft is getting hot after running only for a few minutes. This is at the end that has the removable main bearing plate. I installed new bearing and cork oil seal on this end of crankshaft. I added extra shim for more end play still got hot. Could the new cork oil seal be creating friction? How does the oil get in the two oil bearing holes in the end plate if the oil level is below plate opening? The crankshaft spun free by hand before connecting rods were bolted on with required end play. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Ken.
