OEM Drive Chain vs. Cut to fit

I need to buy a new drive chain for my 753. It broke with the hydraulic fluid drained into the chain case. Should I spend the money on an OEM continuous chain, or can I buy 10 feet of #80 chain and cut and splice in a master link?

Buy 80 hd 10 ft box on my 743 ten foot would do one front and one back with three links left over and count links to match you will play hell putting a loop chain on

I have the whole drive assembly apart right now. Do you think the cut to fit is as good as the OEM?

As long as you go for the quality made one. I thought there were two styles, one was for general use, the other was rated HD for heavy duty. Go the HD, and it should last a lot longer. I think the links were thicker.

I replace one in a 853. Used HD chain and master link. Still going strong
