This is my first skid steer, so please be easy on me. On my recently acquired New Holland L783 skid steer (with Ford diesel motor), the water pump on the left side of the motor, near the radiator, has a filler tube. The tube has a black plug cap that rotates to tighten it. What is this tube for, and why is it going into what I believe is the water pump? Anyone? Thanks, stephen

I think I got my answer: its where you add oil to the engine (timing cover). I found the dipstick to check the oil, and the plug to drain the oil, but hadn't thought about where to put the oil back in. Obvious now. thanks, stephen

You are correct! The valve cover also has a cap to add oil. I use the one on the timing gear cover. Its easier. Good luck with your loader. Good maintainence is theKey to keeping them going. Theyre expensive to repair. Mike
