All,

Have a need for a couple of attachments, just trying to verify if there are any compatibility issues to keep in mind while I'm looking.
- trencher
- post hole auger
- grapple bucket
- backhoe - probably not, but while I'm looking...:)

Concerned as these will be the first attachments I have bought for this machine and I do not know what has changed in the hydraulics world.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, have included couple of pictures of my hydraulic connections.

1989 NH L785

Thank you.

things to consider will be, what the GPM of your hydraulics are now, and then making sure you get attachments that have rates below what your machine makes!
flow rates on new machines are many times way higher than on older machines, thus, many modern attachments will not be usable on older machines, a mistake many make and find out after buying something
also, you have to make sure your quick attach is of the modern type, I say this, cause I know some older machines had a different set up from factory, they do sell adapters now and conversions, , but no clue what your exact model has,, so making sure you have the modern design is important here as well

next will be hydraulic fittings and or electrical connections,
some implements will have there own needs to be used!

Attachments with just a push/pull hydraulic cylinder will probably be no issues.
attachments with motors, as stated above, look up your aux pressure & flow specs first.
also, some attachment motors need a connection for a case drain in addition to "pressure & return". The items you mention should not be an issue with weight, but some of the brush cutters & drum mulchers get pretty heavy, so you might also want to check weights just to make sure.
From the photos, your hydraulic connectors appear to be the "flat face design" ( newer than what was on my LX865 ), but they are just fittings that screw off & on.
happy thoughts, CE

Hi there, sorry to bring back an old thread, but I'm new here looking for info on attachments. I've got an L553 that seems to have a similar setup and age to your L785.
I don't have the hoses that run down the boom, but that should be easy to source. I'm just not sure about the control part. Mine has a similar right hand grip to yours, but it does not have the cable attached.
Did you ever get yours working? Is that lever on the right stick for attachment operation, or is there a different control for it?

My L785 has the cable hand control for attachments on the right stick. It manipulates a cable that operates the hydraulics. Check Messicks for your model and year. I would convert to the quick attach system either by welding on the pin levers( $$) or swapping out the front plate($$$$$$$). It makes finding attachments so much easier.
