New post, Old issue, Troubleshooting 10+ days. 1990 NH L555 D. Boom/bucket function & module SOL LED light cuts out. Shutdown & restart, or RPMs harness & diode/resistor. 12.8v to seat, but 12.2v to module; a .6v, drop but not as specified 1.2 to 1.6v. Replaced harness. Double-checked seat safety & seat belt: contacts solid. All module LEDs tested & function correctly. Still have same issue. Any other way to test module? Noticed hydraulic charge light intermittent "flash." Added 2 gallons fluid due to a very small chain-case cover leak. SOL LED issue remains. Filters 5 yrs old but only 40 hours. Ordered filters & will swap when arrive. Fluid crystal clear. How do I check & clean screen/tube? Strange? No issues for 7 yrs, now SOL LED problem? Indicates module issue, but why would RPMs affect operation? RPMs indicates hydraulic pressure / flow issue? Do hydraulics feed SOL LED in module? Saw post on system voltage at 13.6v? What's required module function? Should system operate at 12.8v? Can alternator/battery cause SOL LED issue? Seems higher RPMs would be better? Have mechanical & electronic background: in desperate need of direction Thanks.

I have many more details and observations on this issue, but haven't learned to post correctly yet,...

I'll keep trying,...
May have identified cause,... Tested Alternator: cranking 17.99v at output post & feeding 17.45 to battery! Alternator has external but integral voltage regulator and condenser attached to back. Volt Reg has adjustment pot, but it had no effect on output. Suspect malfunction of Voltage Regulator? Disconnected alternator & machine ran fine on battery: no SOL LED issues,... Any way to identify correct model/part # of Alt and/or VR? Any idea where to get replacements? Search has turned up hundreds of hits but none look like the one installed on my L555. If I have to replace ALT, can I swap to internal VR? Also, what is purpose of condenser? There's no radio to interfere with,...

This is the label inside the existing regulator: TRANSPO#: IY786 And these are the cross-reference parts: AMSCO#: MD-24 WAI#: 35-8601 TRANSPO#: IY786 OEM#: 12449, 42786 LESTER#: 12175 FITS: MANDO ALTERNATORS USED ON BOBCAT, KUBOTA DETAILS: 12 VOLT, A-CIRCUIT NOTES: BLACK, BLUE, GREEN, RED, ORANGE WIRES. ADJUSTABLE VOLTAGE Can't seem to locate one though,...

Does this look like what you need? It might not have the adjustable voltage pot in it as most aftermarket stuff is solid state anymore.

Original issue: Boom & Bucket Hydraulics "locked out" by SOL LED on Control Module. After troubleshooting all connections and harness to module, the FINAL resolution was that the internal rectifier diodes in the alternator had FAILED causing the alternator to produce a continuous 17.95 volts. This resulted in the an over-voltage input to the control box through the seat safety switch harness which was "outside" the expected range (12.8v less the resistor/diode drop of 1.2 to 1.6 volts) which generated the same error as if the voltage were too low; i.e. lock-out of the SOL-LED! Replaced the alternator, PROBLEM SOLVED! SOL-LED and Boom and Bucket hydraulics functioning correctly again! I have a new seat resistor-diode harness that was probably un-necessary,...

Glad you got going again. As to the screen, you should check it once in a while. Take front panel off remove the left panel and the screen is there. remove the top cap and screen lifts out. Be careful as they are costly. Clean it put it back in and you are done. I do this every 4 months on mine.
