Hey guys ..right as I'm waiting to get my 743 from the shop with the motor replacement I came across another deal maybe? Bobcat 753 Here is the desrcip the guy sent me. Let me know what you guys think as far as what you would pay for it like this. I inquired about more info and I'm waiting for a reply. "I have a 753 Bobcat that has a hydraulic leak and is tired. I bought new pins and bushings and was going to rebuild it, but I have too much to do. I have new manuals and the pins and bushings go with it". Not sure exactly what he meant by the descrip but I asked for more info. Let me know what you think or some ideas of more questions that I should ask. I need to know the price range I should pay most importanatly.

I think the 753 was the most reliable , work horse machine Bobcat ever built , very manuverable , enough power to get big jobs done and it was a fast mover , and it's easy to work on , the pins and bushings he mentioned is probally the bobtack pins and bushings which are not a big job , it can become a big job if the a taper of the boom is wollowed out or the weldment bushing holder is ate into , but still it isn't that bad , 753 is much better than a 743 , sell yours after it's up and running , get a year , hours and price and post backThe reason I want it is b/c I see it has a bigger pump then my 743 which would come in handy for using atachments.
cool .. I will wait to see what is going on with it. I just noticed that the pump is the same capacity as my 743 so that sucks but we will see. I will post back and let you know what I find. Are you sure the pump is the same flow? i thought they were around 16GPM....cool .. I will wait to see what is going on with it. I just noticed that the pump is the same capacity as my 743 so that sucks but we will see. I will post back and let you know what I find. I have to agree with fishfiles, the 753 is an awesome machine, between a 743 and 753 you will pick the 753 every time. It has way more power! i can dig into a pile of dirt and it just wants more. You can get all 4 wheels spinning and you won't stall the engine. As the 753 runs a gear pump the hydraulics are quieter as well, low RPM and it won't make the chattering noise the vane pumps do.
The thing that i noticed is he said its lazy, find out EXACTLY what that means, it may be low compression in the engine that means you will need to look for a good V2203 to throw in. If the engine is good, it could be bad motor seals or weak hyrostatic pumps. Get a little more info before you do anything.
Tazza and fishfiles I usually search bobcat for specs here is the link and it shows the 753 was not made until 1990 which is weird b/c the owner says he thought the machine was from 1980 but didnt seem real certain. So unless the bobcat site is misleading who knows. I have not reinstalled it as my intention has been to remove the engine and do a proper clean up and paint it after welding up any cracks that I find. The Bobcat had been poorly maintained before I bought it. I planned to do a intensive make-over and I just have too much other work to do right now, so I will sell it rather than wait for a couple of years to get aroubd to it. As far as i was aware, the 753's weren't made till 1990, i had one that was 92 i believe, the motors will have a date stamped in them, thats the easiest way to work out a year if its un-known. Thats only if the motors were not swapped out of course. If it is 1980 it will be a 743. The price seems pretty good to me, personally i'd grab it. The radiator alone is worth $600+ i got a quote of $1,200 AUD to get mine re-cored over here. Bought a brand new one for under half that!.
If you are happy to spend some time and money on it, you will be rally happy with what you get. The power difference from the 743 to 753 is amazing.

Tired to me means the everything is worn out and needs a friend to bring it back to a reasonable operating condition. Like I mentioned I have all the new pins and bushings that I purchased from Bob Cat North Houston. Also I have made a new wiring loom for it with a new switch. The set of pins and bushings cost from Bobcat over $600.00. There are also new manuals for it. I do not have a digital camera and do not have pictures of the machine". If you are willing to spend some time and effort it will be worth it in the long run.
The only thing to watch is that if anything was removed that it was plugged up. I bought a 763 that had the engine and pump removed but not plugged, the rotating groups in the pump got moisture in them and were rusted solid. Still fixable, but an un-expected expense.
Do you think its a project you can manage to do? it won't be worth it if you have to send it to the dealer to do all the work for you i can tell you that now. With the service manual and moderate mechaincal abilities anyone could work on one of these machines. A helper sure makes it easier but not always required.
