I have the option to buy, I think its a 1995 model Mustang 960. Things I've noticed so far is that it is dirty, meaning no signs of maintenance on this machine for years. The key switch is missing, front lights are gone but electrical is there. All tires are worn 3/4, one is low on air. The left foot control has the heel of the control busted clean off, not sure how that could happen, still is operational even though. Color is faded, and over 4,000 hours on the meter. I'm curious how much it is worth to someone like myself not knowing what I'm walking into as far as buying a bucket of problems, or is it a machine that has rather minor issues. They are asking $4000.00 They say it runs and operates like it should. just has the minor visual problems I noted. Very interested but want to have a better understanding about these older models, What are your opinions. Thanks Marlton Utahstreeservice.com

First off the 960 is a great machine. We had 8500 hours on one when we traded it off for our 2076. Things to check raise all wheels off the ground and try to move wheels to see what kind of shape the bearings are in should be tight with no up down or end play. Wiggle the fan pulley to see how water pump is. Take seat panel up and look for obvious leaks. It does sound like not much maintenance has been done. I had a friend buy one that was pretty rough for 4500 and he has gotten along great with it. I thought that was plenty for what it was. New tires can run well over 200 a piece depending on what you get. They can be a pretty good old loader.
