Greetings all. I have an M600 that was upgraded with a 610 motor. Started it up this morning and was moving some snow when I noticed the left drive lever was suddenly loose. There was no resistance pushing forward and then it caught and went full forward and stuck. I shut the engine off and could not get the lever to move from full forward. I removed the clutch adjustment nut covers and the front one was normal, but the rear adjustment was extremely tight. I backed it off until it was loose, but still can't get the lever to go forward. Any pointers before I call the dealership and have it towed in? Thanks for any input. John

If you want to do it yourself you can take the side cover off and then have access to the clutches. I think you have a failed thrust bearing in that clutch or the clutch disk broke but they are simple and the bearings are reasonable in price some of the other parts seem high until you find out what the shop charges for labor. It depends on the time you want to spend on fixing it yourself

Thanks for the reply Jerry. I've been reading the forum a bit. If i had a heated shop I think I'd give it a try, what with all the helpful people here. But right now I just moved to a new farm and none of the buildings are heated (yet). So, how many hours of shop rate do you think I'll be paying? the machine has been handy, so I'll be fixing it.

Cost will vary a lot depending on area. Here we are about 35 miles from dealer so it would cost about $125 or more to have it moved there and then about $90 per hour for labor. Call the dealer tomorrow some of them are good to work with and some are not. If you have it fixed in town check the local tow truck people also for hauling rates, may be cheaper than having the dealer pick it up. Or haul it yourself if you can. It weighs about 3500lbs.

As a follow up, it was about 400 bucks getting it fixed at the dealer. It needed new clutches on that side, but the chain was okay. I ended up delivering it there as I was going that way, and they brought it back when they were delivering other machines in the area.
