john deere 4475 float problem

My 4475 skidsteer goes into float, but when I back up, it comes out and lifts up the front end. Sometimes right away, sometimes I can get 10 or 15 feet. The control stays in float, but the bucket doesn't. Any ideas on what to check? Thanks.

Is it electronically controlled or is it done with a detent position on the pedal? Like push down then it clicks and holds float and the pedal stays in that position till you kick it and it pops back out.

It's a detent in the hand control. It stays there until you take it out.
