Greetings folks, I am trying to find a replacement distributor for My Bobcat 610 with a Wisconsin VH4D. I am wondering if this engine has number of different distributors ? The one for this machine has to power the HYD pump just off to the left of the distributor. If anyone could give me some info on the part number or a lead on where I might find one It would be very helpful. Also what do they run price wise ? Thanks for your help. Have fun, Buckshot

The distributor does not 'power' the Hydro pump…..it simply rides on the same shaft that powers the pump. Prestolite IAD-6004-2P (part#6516555) is for engine S/N 6164220 and below. Colt distributor was used on engine S/N 6164221 and above but is no longer made or available. A solid state distributor (part #6660480) was made for engine S/N 6193828 and above. Personally I switch all of mine to an Electronic #YF50CS1. Every M-610 I have runs on them…..been a while since I bought one but I think the last one was roughly $300.00. Where are you located? I probably have a couple of the old prestolite laying around you can have.

Good Morning 6brnorma, We are located in Ocala, Florida. The VH4D S/N on my motor is 3904807 and the spec # is 243789. The distributor in my machine if worn out. I don't trust it for many more hours. If you let me know what the shipping would be I would be most thankful to be able to obtain them. Once I have a replacement I will try to rebuild one of them and put what is left on the shelf. Thank you so much for your help. Have a Happy New Year... Have fun, buckshot

Hi sorry to bother you I have a question! We have a 1980 bobcat 630 we bought a new starter from bobcat for it but can't find the distributor. We can't get a strong enough spark. It ran when we parked it changed the starter and put a distributor we bought off eBay for the Wisconsin vh4d that is in it and put the coil we bought for it in now we can't get spark bright enough to start it. You seem knowledgeable do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

buckshot…..it's my pleasure. I will post the question and answer for the benefit of those that may find it useful in the future. He asked for parts numbers for the distributor. It is the Prestolite IAD-6004-2P (common distributor used on the VH4D engines): NAPA; Rotor - #AL69, Cap - #AL70, Points - #CS725A, Condenser - #AL868…….Bobcat; Rotor - #957791, Cap - #870925, Points - #897262, Condenser - #860818……I do see them offered on E-bay at times also as a kit.
