bobcat / diesel engine , 250 hours , Shell Rotella 15-40 , we don't get that cold down here
No hour meter, when it doesn't look new & semi clear, change time. Castrol 10-30. When I get a meter in 60 hours. (Gas engine) I figure if it was my truck 60 hours at 50mph average would be 3000 miles....500 hours would be like changing your trucks oil at 25,000 miles. They tryin to sell engines?

My old 753 (1993) said every 100 hrs, but my 99 773 say 250 hour. We do most of our heavy equipment at 200, so that what I use in the loaders too. Use rotella t 10/30 or 15/40 in most things. Some of the things we start in the winter get 0/40 artic (esso) Small air cooled engines and the LS 160
My 05 Chevy 1/2 ton has a GM oil life system and with the way I drive it usually between 9000 and 10000 kms, (6000 mile) which used to worry me a bit, but the oil stays surprisingly clean and that still under 200 hours on it to.
Under 100 sounds pretty often to me, but you won't hurt it any. Imo usually problem comes from people who don't have a schedule or pay attention to the hour meter.
I seen a ford 351w once that turned crank bearings, (buddys girlfriend) When he and I pulled the oil pan to do the crank, there were grooves in the sludge (think thick tar) where the crankshaft counterweights plowed a trail though it. There was only room for 1.5 liters of oil in the pan and the rest was sludge. It was unreal

I think with smaller engines ( bobcats - mini excavators ) id change it in between 120 hrs and 200 tops .......with larger engines ( loaders - dozers - larger excavators ) etc i stick to a 250 hrs service that is a oil, air and fuel filters with a more detailed service at 500 hrs hyd, trans and a full service at 1000 hrs .......with a bobcat i change mine at 150 hrs (60 hp) but if u have the time & money the more often u change it the longer ur engine will last ........... and as for case 500 hrs WTF lol like above what r they over stocked with engines ? On road ( diesel ) 4x4 , cars, trucks etc should be changed every 5000 km and (petrol ) every 10 000 kms i used to use castrol but have changed to shell >>>>> go well go shell :)

My car i always do 10,000 k's (currently overdue by 2,000) but my bobcat i do at 100-200 hrs, its sitting at about 160 at the moment and going on 2 years... Its really overdue but i keep putting it off. A filter and 8 litres of oil really is cheap insurance on a $5,000 engine. Its one of those things on my *to do* list.... Do you see a trend here? :) I really need to pay more attention to servicing!
