Bobcat S185 Winter oils-fuel additive How cold would you operate the machine if it was coming out of a heated shop? Other than oils/grease and fuel considerations is there any other hints or things to watch for. I am talking about operations around -30C about 25F below. Is this too extreme? Things I have noted. When lifting snow the windshield is constantly being sprayed with snow, you need to use the wiper and have a cold weather washer fluid. i.e -40 fluid. Snow builds up just below the door, there is a small ledge, keep that clear of heavy build up or the door wont close. Carry a small shovel. I run my tires at about 38-40PSI, I find I have better traction. Be sure to drain the fuel filter sump when in the shop. I run a fuel additive called Diesel Kleen and Diesel 911. I use an ambient temperature of -30C as my cut-off.
