I’d be inclined to remove all wiring and start from scratch with some good, non-soy based (critters don’t eat it) insulated wiring and build my own looms. It definitely isn’t that complicated and the circuits should be relatively easy to build from the wiring diagram you got from Messick’s.

These wires are old school, definitely no soy as this has been sitting years in the woods. But yes, I plan to rewire and clean up the electricians nightmare thats on it after I get it running and ironed out. If I cant get it running Ill probly sell it for someone else to do a motor swap or parts,,,,

I went out to tinker tonight a bit. I jumped the fuel pump with a rechargeable battery and it works. I couldnt figure out how the carb comes off the manifold as I was going to clean the bowl.... eh, skip it for now. Next I tried to remove the resistor off the back of the seat, the rusty carriage bolt holding it on spun and instantly cracked it in half if it wasnt already cracked? Anyways the 2 spade terminals were loose on the rod so I re- crimped them and got it all tightened up and super glued it together Need to know what is the correct one to look for so I can order as theres no numbers on it? . I ohm'd it out and getting 2.5 if thats correct ( kinda jumps around but I think my meter is on its way out or something, should pick up a new one next time Im out. Originally I think the wires were just twisted onto the spades as there was a nice wad of bare wires on the terminals but since Ive had this, the 2 wires twisted together straight to the coil. I want to put it like its supposed to be and replace the resistor inline as it should be. All I can find is 1.8 ohm resistors if those will work?
I thought to add some seafoam and prime the fuel pump up to the carb and have it ready to crank once I get everything else done soon?

Parts should be in today and get it all back together, Ignition button, light switch and resistor, I got a regulator with an actual metal mount attached so I can install it somewhere secure instead of on the back of the seat cover which will also clean up some of the excess wiring thats dangling everywhere. Making a pot of Homemade Chili in the meantime.

Got a lot accomplished today.
Changed out the PTO switch on the zero turn to an upgraded 20amp switch.
Rebuilt the carb on the power washer and got it running.
Then I finished the panel on the skiddy, stripped and soldered all the wires together for a tight connection ( thought I have some large butt connectors but couldnt find them ) so I soldered the connection after wrapping and tying braided copper wire around them for a secure connection then doubled up on heavy duty heat shrink tubing to complete the connection then added the split loom to protect the wiring. Hooked up the Throttle and choke, and installed the new resistornext stop is getting a battery.
