Hello all, John Henry here from Long Island NY. Just learned about this forum from some of my locals and they've directed me here. Bought a 240 a few months back. Certified by JD etc etc... Have had a few problems but just the other day she started to run and stall. Would wait a bit and she'd run and stall. Water Separator/Fuel filter & inline filter had 5 hours on them. Checked for flow and finally got to the tank. Everything from the inline filter through the new electric pump to the Separator is clear and fine. Hooked everything back up with a new pump and filters and flow was 95% diminished so choking. Kinda at a loss here. We aren't familiar with the JD's. Is there something we aren't checking or something we are missing ? Could a relay be causing this or something else ? Would appreciate the benefit of your knowledge on this. Trying to avoid a trip to the dealer and a 1,000 hit. Thanks in advance John Henry

You mention filters and lines from the tank, have you checked the fuel pickup tube inside the tank? THey can get algae or other particles stuck on the screen if fitted and reduce fuel flow.
If you know the fuel flow is low, you have to keep looking further back to the source.

Is the inline filter installed the right way there is a in and out. I would also check voltage while the pump is running to make sure you're not dropping

Hi guys, Yes I have made sure everything is in the right direction, and did remove the fuel pickup, and force air through. have worked backwards from the fuel water separator to the tank. Sure does seem to be the fuel pickup. Wasn't sure but totally agree with you folks. Re-pulling it tomorrow and ordering new. If old is salvageable great, I will have a backup. Kinda got stuck on stupid for a while with this thinking there was something else at play. Gotta be outa the tank. Gotta make sure the tank isn't full of decay and what not as well. Thank you guys for gettin back to me so quickly. Very much appreciated . Thank you !

You could try running it out of a can. Is the fuel bubbly coming out of the line indicating a cracked line

Another thought is if the inline filter is the right micron rating. Had a tractor once where they gave me quite finer mesh filter and the diesel didn't want to go through it. Finally figured it out when it got cold enough the pump sucked the hose flat. Deere did it to me on a Hydraulic filter for a 250 also. They changed the micron of the filter we couldn't figure out why the filter light was on all the time
