I have an 863H Bobcat that has some driveability issues. While driving and holding the arms very steady the skidloader will all of a sudden lurch forward and then slow down to the previous speed in a split second. This of course sends the skidloader hoping back and forth and throws the driver into the door. Only happens going straight ahaid. Reverse and turning seem to be fine. Brought it to a local dealer and they said that nothing was wrong with it. Have driven many skidloaders and haven't ever driven anything that has done this before. Anyone know of any issues with these machines? Any help or suggested repairs would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Does this happen shortly after you move the sticks? I remember Ken talking about issues sort of like this. The steering response is a little slow, like you want to move forward a bit so you move the sticks a little, nothing happens so you move more then it just launches forward. It has something to do with the steering servo's i think, they have a bit of lag which you need to get used to for smooth operation.
Could it be that simple? that you are not yet used to how it operates?
With the regular setup, response is instant so it will feel like there is something wrong with the other machine.

The steering on 8 series machines have always seemed a bit jumpy to me , with that said it could be a travlel motor seal kit as I have seen when the back up ring and o ring in the end of the hydraulic travel motor goes out it will hesitate before moving , oes it do it on just one side or both
