Had the head milled on my 4024T engine. Can I reuse the head bolts? Appreciate any comments. Thanks

My experience: Depends on the torquing procedure. If they torque to a specific torque value, you should be able to re-use them. If they torque to a value, and then have to be rotated a further amount of turns (or fraction of a turn), they are the yielding type and cannot be re-used. I would consult the dealer, or wait until an JD expert weighs in to be sure. One thing I do know, do not reuse JD connecting rod bolts! Learned that one the hard way.

No they can not be reused, they are torque to yeild bolts. Be very carfull when installing the head to get the front coolant gasket in the right place. It will really piss you off if it leaks and you also have to take the head. Also I would recommand finding somebody who works on these engines. It takes a skilled hand following the exact steps to a tee to set injector pump timing.
