I own a Mustang 2109 (the Largest unit available) The owners manual specs 15 W 40 Motor oil or hydraulic fluid in the chain case, however when I drained a small amount out, it looked like at least 80 weight. I called the manufacturer's technical help department and they told me that the manual was correct, however they could not tell me why the oil in the case was so thick from the factory. What are you guys using in your machines and what machines are you using it in? I normally do not like to deviate from the Manufacturers recomendations.

The oil only needs to lubricate gears, chains and bearings. 15W40, 20W50 anything along those lines will work fine. Not sure why the old oil was so thick though.
