Case 1840 - What is it worth?

Looking at a 1992 model Case 1840 with smooth bucket, toothbar, and forks. Unit has 1700 hrs and been used for by a landscaping contractor. Tires are about 75%. Need some of the Case experts help on the following as this will be my first skid steer. I've rented them before but they have always been foot/hand controls. I'll look at all the fluids that have dipsticks or caps but need advise on any specific items on this model to check....also what would be a good buy price on the machine assuming it is tight? It is a diesel....Does this year have the cummins? Thanks for the help! Skeet

Check machinerytrader for a like machine in your location to get an idea on price. I'm not an expert on Case but I had an 1845c with over 8000 hours that was used every day with very little maintenance and no problems. The engine will be a cummins clone and they are bullet proof.
