One of the local tire dealers has a sale on 12x16.5 Carlisle Trac-Chief tires. The price is way lower than other dealers other brands. I don't use my machine that much or that hard and the 10 ply tire w/rim guard that they are selling for 130.00 apiece is appealing. I have used Carlisle ag tires and ATV tires and have been generally pleased, but I am a real novice at the Skid steer tires. Any opinions? thanks Steve A.

I don;t use my machine much either, i got cheapies, around $100 they have hardly worn over the 4 odd years i have used it and 400 odd hours. If its for personal use, i see no problem with cheap and nasty tyres. If you use your machine for a living, i'd go for better ones. The cheapies can be rather hard and seem to tear easier, not bad enough to be no good, but the tread can break up faster.
