KEEP IT GREASED NO TROUBLE. IF Past that point, check and see if bushings can be replaced.if pAST THAT POINT TOSS ON SCRAP PILE. guys this easy stuff. grease every 8. the bushings are replacebale if you dont wear beyond that point. its an easy fix. if you do suck it up . should o greaaed it every 8. you will have to ask as to the proper method as to how to replace a bob tach, not going to give away trade secretes if you dont greas eit i can say that without the 300 dollar reamer and about two hrs labor youre pissing in the wind, go ahead and try,we can fix it once and fix it right and you will never hAve another issue. providing you do youre part.to replace parts alone are a grand let alone labor. 10 out of 10 is not greased THEY DONT FAIL) YOU DO

not to give away any sea-ka-reats but you don't need to scrap the bobtach for bad bushing holder weldments , they are replacable and parts are rather cheap at about $55 each , as far as Bobcat parts go thats pretty cheap , it does take a while to cut the old ones out and weld the new ones in , but for about $500 which is mostly welding labor you can get back to new specs , the last bobtach I bought was $1,200 and some change plus tax ------------- when your mention reamer you must me talking a taper in the boom tip , I got one but only use it to clean the dirt and rust out the a-taper bore as if it is that out of shape it really does no good , there are a few different opitions to repair the a taper , my favorite is the one which you drill out then insert a bushing and weld it in place , Construction Tool in Portland produces them -------- if the bushings are loose in the bushing holders and your on a budget or looking to buy some time then you can clean all the grease out the holder and rough it up with a die grinder , pack some two part Devon liquid metal around the new bushing and assembly onto machine before it dries and it will last a while --------- I am a believer in good grease , I seen how cheap grease doesn't give you 8 hours of protection

How can you tell if it's bad? When I got my machine in order to move the levers up I had to get pointed straight down and resting on the ground, do I could drive the pins up with a maul and piece of drill rod. Since then I've gotten them loose and greased up. If I have the bucket nearly vertical and I'm backdragging, I can see the wedges moving around a little, but everything seems firm. What should I be looking for?

It never ceases to amaze me that people leave their buckets on for so long that the pins rust solid. I change attachments at least once a day. Sometimes three or four times a day. That's what the Bobtach is for. Grease and lots of it is always the answer when it comes to Bobcats.

There has to be a recent story behind this rant. Fill us in!!
BTW - I love it when people throw bobtachs away. I get to build conversion adapters!!!

tossed three in dumpster today. at 96 bucks an hr you want me patching it to cut em out and weld em .in line bore ( if not done youre buying a set o arms as well) get real dudes . its not cost effective now if yore tazz thaths one thing? if you can wrap up 30 hrs of time fixing something that was easily reparied prior to neglect have at it. i know how it goes im a mechanic ,plumbing is three trips to lowes, and 10 hrs later but i do it anyway, let alone the parts ive stocked due my faliure to return that which was not needed,, (BUT LET IT BE SAID ) FIX IT ONCE FIX IT RIGHT DO PROPER MAINT, NO MORE ISSUSSES EVER, thats a grand give or take( which was easy to avoid in the first place)
