Bobcat 863 For Ranch

Hello looking to buy my first Skid steer to help out around the ranch. Unload feed, move brush, grade road etc. Seen several good deals on the 863. Keep in mind I'm a newbie bu the specs say 1900lbs lifting capacity does that mean it won't lift 1 Ton of feed off the truck?

Great question. I have a 1999 863F .
I have lifted some heavy things ( not sure on exact weight). Hopefully other's will have better input. Tipping weight is like 3800 lbs I remember. If you have counter weights on rear (door I believe) you will have better balance picking heavy loads.
I know we have towed our 9800 lbs trailer around the property with no hesitation. (Reciever hitch on our forks plate)

PS we love our 863F for our Ranch..

A late reply but better than never…I ordered a few lifts of plywood and when it was delivered I couldn't lift a whole lift of the plywood off the trailer. Rather than break open the bundled sheets, I hung a 45 gallon drum off the back suspended with 4" load cinches then filled with water. Worked like a darn! No more tipping and the 863 had plenty of hyd. power.

This is one of the fears that caused me to choose the 864 which is the same thing but with tracks.
