I was driving my NH Lx665 Turbo without issue, it started right up, when I finished I parked it on a slight incline and shut it off. I came back a couple hours later and noticed it had rolled back 10 feet or so. I got it to try and start it and it wouldn't turn over, it just gave me a red stop light on the dash. Is there some kind of safety lockout on this machine? I'm not sure what to do from here

Hey J, that's a real head-scratcher. Having a machine refuse to start when you need it is super frustrating.

You're on the right track thinking about a safety lockout. These machines have a bunch of them, and they all have to be happy for it to start. The fact that it rolled might be a big clue.

I’d check the seat bar switch first. Make sure you're sitting all the way back in the seat and the lap bar is fully down and clicked into place. Sometimes the sensor just needs a good solid connection to know you're there.

1. Potential Safety Lockout
The red “STOP” light often signals a critical failure in either hydraulic pressure or engine systems.
Safety Interlock System: If the machine moved while shut off, the safety interlock (seat switch, seatbelt, or lap bar) may have “tripped” because the computer detected movement without an operator present or with the brake supposed to be engaged.
Service/Run Switch: Try toggling the Service/Run switch located in the fuse panel area. If the machine starts in “Service” mode but not in “Run,” the issue is definitely in the safety interlock circuit (seat/belt switches), can see Official New Holland LX665 Service Manual PDF.
2-Mechanical/Pressure Bind ( Ensure the parking brake is fully cycled off and then back on).
 
also, I am not 100% but I don't think your model has a lap bar, and if its like other LX based models, it it should NOT be able to roll freely when off,
Hell, I tried to drag my lx 865 with a large diesel truck and couldn't budge it, unless I had someone sit in it and hold controls in direction I wanted to drag it!, and even then it rolled with resistance
so I think you may have other issues?
 
Hello All, much has happened since last communication. Presently did get Skid Steer to run the L565 1995 actually had Hydraulics working too. Opportunity there to change out for a new battery. Took out the old key switch and cleaned up the EIC board, which had much mouse urine. Now that I have the Skid Steer near the house, have inflated tires to the correct pressure all but one which couldn’t get to because parked too close to a rock wall and now the key will not engage the relay. So I purchased a new relay. From Amazon due today.

Time being a factor, my Helper is going into surgery and we needed to get this part ASAP. Now the problem is finding the access to the relay location, initially we could hear it click in; living somewhere between my knee and my ankle on the left side as you’re sitting in the Skid Steer I called Chappel Tractor they said that there’s a panel to remove, but I’m not seeing it. It looks like it is structurally constructed as one piece. my question is does anybody have knowledge working on the 1995 L565 trying to replace a relay inside the cab? Lifting the cab off is not an option. I don’t have the muscle. And equipment to jack up to put on blocks.
