Bobcat 863 Arm Control Problem

I'm the new owner of a 863. Unfortunately I haven't got the service manual that was promised with it yet. I cannot get the arm to move at all. Bar down. I start it up and hit the traction control. Both lights on the left control are on. I can tilt it no problem. When I go and move the left control for the arm movement I get nothing when I move it to the left (down) I'm guessing because it is already all the way down. When I move it to the right to lift the arm up the left light on the control starts blinking. At that point I can't tilt it anymore. I can drive it no problem.

More specifically this is the high flow model. I got to playing around with it some more and I got the arm to tilt. It's sensitive though. Sometimes I get it moving. When I do its real temperamental. If I don't move control lever over very slowly the light will go out and nothing will happen. Sometime though it'll go even if I jerk it over. Sometimes I can't even get the arm moving. the left light will start blinking intervals of 5 then it's over. Lifting the bar up won't reset it.

From the sounds, you have a machine with early advance hand control with two LEDs on the left handle. You have a problem with lift, tilt will work fine until you try to move lift. The system will detect a fault and lock out the system. Get in the machine, run it and count the blinks of the LEDs. This is a code. Most likely a handle or acturator problem.

anoyher thing we need to identif issue is color of ahc mod, this is going to be rough one as stated it could be nothing more than handle or acuator. (both about a grand apeice) if you need further help, identify colour of box, # of blinks on handle, another thought is external control valve leaks ,which will cause ahc issues (as in oil on back side of spool not allowining motor to shift spool freely.,one thing i can say in complete honesty, when a ahc problem hits the door of my shop we cringe, is elect is it hyd etc (and this is what we do) please advise as to. how it is goining,, glad to be of further assisantce.(albeit probally a bubble burst)

5 blinks is acturator fault. Start by switching the lift and tile acturator connectors. This will reverse the control. If it kicks out when you move the right handle now, you know it is an acturator. Yours is if not repaired once, is probably the pain in a butt early style. It will be updated to the new style. Also check to see if the control vavle is leaking, hydraulic fluid will wreck the acturator. Have fun, I hate those early ones.

I got replacement actuators. Now how do I get them out in first place? There just doesn't seem to be any good way to get my hands in their to wrench on them.
