Help Support SkidSteer Forum:

Hi, I have been reading this thread with interest I have a 751 and untill the other day all,was fine, powered off and went to restart no power no lights no click of the relays not even the relay to relase hydraulic pressure would I be correct in assuming this may the the power switch relay causing this; or at least is it a good place to start? cheers Andy
I have a 763, and like you I used it, shut it off, and tried to re-start. Nothing! Now I hear relays clicking under the aircleaner. the BICS box is flashing and making a whistling sound. I checked and re-checked the battery, because it sounds like a battery problem. I replaced it and same symptoms. Another weird artifact is if I put the headlights on, they start very low and ramp up to full brightness. THis is too strange. I've looked and cleaned all the corroded fuses and sockets. They're all good. I will re-check grounds all over the place, but am leaning towards relays and fuses somewhere. Thanks in advance for any inputs on this. I'm stumped. Rob

Also check for bad battery cables...where the cable connects to the clamp terminal....they can corrode inside, look fine but not allow power to flow.

Thanks I will check the POS terminal
Mrfixit- I saw another post of yours regarding the fuses not flowing enough current. Mine are corroded but are tight. I repaired one of the connectors by pulling it out of the socket. Do you know of any replacement contacts/connectors?? Thanks again Rob

The BICS on this thing is flashing, and making multiple beeps and I can here the shutdown relay clicking away, does this help? If I turn the lights on the whole ignition circuit seems to die, nothing clicking on the relays and BICS is off. It's like the twilight zone!!!

Spot on Mrfixit!!! first chance I have had to get the covers open today, jumped in with the test meter and found I was dropping about 3.5v between the battery terminal and the battery post; cleaned the connections and the old 751 started first time. Thanks for the help - Cheers.

Hi, I'm soon going to get this Bobcat 751, to move dirt, pallets, and build small retaining walls and small additions to my house, but I'm a little worried how deep the rutts in lawns ussually are after you ride over your lawn about 3 to 10 times with a 5000 pound bobcat in the summer or spring (thats the seasons when I ussually do most outside work) because I really don't want big deep rutts in my lawn, so thats all I'm asking, and any advice will be helpful, thanks.

The ruts will depend on what type of soil you have and how wet it is. If you need to drive the same path repeatedly you can get some sheets of thick plywood and lay them along the path to minimize the damage. 1/2" thick plywood keeps my 2500lb 453 from making ruts. I have several sheets that I've used many times when I've had to work in somebody's yard and didn't want to rut it up.
