Anyone know what the 8709 backhoe weighs?
Also which machines will it work on? I think it was designed for the 873. I may be able to get one at a good price so I am wondering if it is any different from the 709 other than the position of the mounting locations. if its similar in weight I could always cut the mounts off and relocate them... I couldn't find the weight via internet search
Thanks
DJ

I believe it is alot bigger can't find a spec for it on bobcat website, is that just a 800 series 709 then (9 ft dig depth)?? the 709 is about 1500 lbs

The 8709 weighs 1640 lbs without the bucket. Max dig depth 118 inches, reach from swing pivot is 145.5 inches.
Bobcat listed it as applicable for the 873.
The specs are very similar to the 709 with fold down stabilizers. Is is a little shorter and digs a couple inches deeper. The information I have does not list the breakout forces, so I don't know if it is any stronger than the 709.

Cool thanks, I have the specs for the 709 with fold out stabilizers at 1637lbs so looks like it will work and could shift the mounts and weld them into the same position as on a 709.... found a 709 for $3500 but its a long trip to go get it... Will see if the 8709 is priced cheap enough to justify the mod... at least I know it is not going to be too heavy compared to a 709.
Found a cool PDF file that has all the specs for most bobcat attachment as well as part numbers and priceHERE: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/equipmen...A - Bobcat Loader Attachment - 09 Pricing.pdf
but no 8709 listed. does have the break out force though. I was able to confirm the mounts on my machine via the part numbers on them as being for the 709 attachment

I found this picture of a 709 and 8709. It looks like the 8709 mounts to the loader between the loader arms.

Thanks for that pic, found a couple good pics of an 8709 on a 873 on ebay too. It seems the fold down stabilizer version of the 709 is really hard to find... So I may see if i can get the 8709 and just modify the mounts to fit my 753. it looks like the either of these still weigh about 350lb less than the 811 or 8811
