We have a 2000 Case 85xt. This machine is smack dab in the middle of the model changes and i have a hard time with getting answers at the local case dealer sometimes without hauling it into them. The last major item i fixed was the drive bolts all sheared off and had to pull the transom pump. Had it rebuilt, and pressure tested then installed. While apart we fixed some worn wires in the cab in the main loom that runs up by your left foot. This is this weeks issue....! A few weeks later the lift side of the hydraulics started to have issues. Going up slowly at first, now it will barely raise unless you push it all the way out. We found out if we are sitting in one spot we can press the electric brake button on the hand controller and it will work a little better. ( which to me seems completely wrong but works ).... We are looking for more worn wires while we have it tore down putting injectors in it. Has anyone ever had this issue and was it hydraulic or an electrical problem? Thank you for any guidance we can get.

Could your aux hydraulics be getting stuck on? This is a common issue with machines, if it get stuck on, it will play havoc with lift and tilt functions that make no sense.

ok..injectors are in....i replaced some fuses and got the unit to move and lift...worked it for about 10 hours around the farm and now the whole hydraulic system is out....was carrying a load and dumped it and BAM...everything just quit....is there a electronic trouble shooting guide for hydraulics ? he also has some gimped up wires but we fixed the required ones to make it move and lift. I guess i am looking for --> HYDRAULIC / ELECTRICAL FOR DUMMIES thank you for any pointers

The first thing i'd check is the linkage between the pump and motor, if it has failed, nothing will work.
When you operate the hydraulics, does the engine bog down? or change at all? this will indicate if the connection is still working or not.

the linkage looks bent but still moves. the way it quit makes me think it is an electrical issue because it just quit on him all at once. Could it be a safety neutral switch on the transom pump.? it is a $350 part and i hate to throw money at it and not be the problem. TIA

$350 for a switch is insane....
Have you tried calling the dealer about it? as ihave never worked on one, i can't really say, hate for you to drop that much cash on a switch and it not fix the issue.

ok...it is pretty much back together.....all the wired repaired, new aftermarket relay / solenoid and check filters. We can get the turd to turn in right hand circles. it will not go left. it will tilt back & forth, it will raise and lower if we hold the bypass pump lever over. we also loosened the hoses to the left motor and it has hyd. oil. any ideas?

It could be a bad drive motor seal. You can swap drive motors from side to side and see if the problem changes sides.
