Hi All, I have a early SN# 843 bobcat. It sheared the drive coupling so i removed the pumps and all hoses to get to the drive in between .. My problem is my manual is very unclear on the hook-up of hoses..i tried to mark with paint but oil is a great paint remover. I'm pretty sure i have them hooked up right after several attempts and 1 blown up hydralic filter.. The bobcat now has lift and tilt on bucket ,but my drive is not working properly. the left side surges very erraticly with th lever forward or back ..[seems like air in system], but i have no right side drive at all..i did lose lots of oil and unit is foaming up very bad. Do i have to prime the drive pumps first? I am not getting any oil from the tee that mounts on the front of the port block that goes to both pumps when unit is running...should I? Any help would be appreciated...

WELL GUYS.. ! I'm leaning towards hose hooked up wrong still.. ill give ya a run down on how i have it all hooked up. Port block from front to back.. 1."T" fitting on front of block---->lines goto both hydraulic pumps. 2. Front side fitting-----> goes down to valve with the pressure switch in it..i think it goes to both drive motors and to cooler also.. 3.Middle port "one with screen in it----line goes to top back "T" fitting on Hydraulic Control Valve which then goes to top of hydraulic res. 4.Back port------>hose goes to filter housing. 5. Rear------>return to bottom of tank 6.Bottom of hydraulic pump------>goes to front top fitting on Hydraulic Control Valve. Which is also a "T",but it has a cap on it.. Help me out guys...

When ever you do these jobs, use a centre punch and mark the hoses. As you have found, oil does an awesome job at removing pen....
I don't know how they hoses are routed, but call your dealer, ask for some parts diagrams of the hoses to the pump. They will generally fax you a list so you can order parts. I found the parts manual shows hose locations where as the service manual does not.
I hope that helps you out.

The 843 parts manual is in the 843 folder where I uploaded the service manuals.

Or you can get a copy of the manual from OM
Hopefully its helpful, i did the same on my 743 when i had it in pieces. It showed where everything joined, it didn't show the routing, but you can work that out.
