I am bringinging an 825 back from a 12 year hibernation. Read the manuals and Drained ancient diesel and 26 gallons of hydraulic fluid. Read (in manuals and on this forum) about draining chain cases. Tilted cab and found wedge shaped cover. Removed it(didn't break any bolts!!!) and found hydro motor in like new condition! Was shocked how clean it was. Can see drive gears down below motor and can just glimpse chains in gallery's on either side. All stuff looks shiny new. used Suck Bucket(greatest invention ever) to clean out bottom of case I opened up. It looks like I got maybe another gallon of dirty water/oil. I thought the chain cases were separate from the hydraulic fluid reservoir? How do I get into the chain cases? I'm sure this will be the first of many questions so thanks for your patience in advance.

Glad to see there are more 825's out there. I am currently also in the rehab stage of mine. You are correct in assuming the chain case is part of the reservoir on our old 825's. I guess it makes them an oddity but there it is. As i say I have been learning the insides and outs of the 825 for the last year so if you have any Q's just ask and I just might be able to answer them. Also while you are in there find the third hidden hydraulic filter under the drivers area floor and replace it. It involves removing the foot pedals and the cover plate but the filter probably hasn't been changed since Reagan was in office so give it a look. Brian

I'm thinking about parting out my 825, I don't need it anymore, and it hasn't sold locally. I'm in Pennsylvania. If enough folks can use parts then I might do better parting it. It's inside, but I need the room for a new tractor. Jerry

GhostOP: If you do decide to do that let me know, I may be interested in some parts.
