7775 Starting Problem

When I try to start the machine alot of times it just clicks like the starter solenoid and that may be it but I am not sure what the best way to test for that would be. Also when I am using the machine and switch from bucket to forks with engine running I unhook seat-belt,, pull the levers and hook the seat-belt back up,, the hydraulics wont work, not all the time but most. I have to turn the machine off and then sometimes it takes forever to crank,,, click click click click,,,,,,,, start, and then sometimes the hyraulics still stay locked. I love the machine but it is a pita when it does this. Has a new battery and needs a new seat,,has dual switches under the seat. The seat pan looks ok with some rust. It isnt a suspension seat. I will post a picture of the seat later today and maybe someone can tell me if it can be recovered. I would appreciate any help or advice you fellows mind giving. Thank you.

Did you read the thread just below yours in the new holland forum? He was told the starter relay was on the circuit board and several hundred dollars solved the problem with a new circuit board. Hopefully yours will just be a 50 dollar relay.

While there are relays on the circuit board that is not where you need to start. I would suspect a seat switch, seat belt switch, or seat harness first. When it does not start do you flip the service/run switch to the service postion to see if it starts? When it clicks is there just one click or a rapid clicking?
First thing is as you sit in the seat, with the key off, look at the instrument panel and see if it lights up for it's self check. If not you have a seat switch or seat harness problem.
If the lights come on when you sit in the seat, then fasten the seat belt. Does the seat belt light go out on the instrument panel. If not the seat belt buckle is bad or the seat harness.
If the light goes out then you will need some one to help you check further. On the NH machines and probably on the JD machines there are two solenoids, relays, under the engine fuse panel. On the NH machines it is the left one that is the relay for the starter. I think JD has the panel turned 90 degrees so it probably is the rear one. Remove the plastic cover from the relay and see if you have power at one of the small terminals of the relay when the key is turned to start. If you have power at the small terminal then check if you have power at both the large terminals when the key is turned to the start positon. If both large posts have power then you have a starter problem.
If the starter is the problem you still have an issue with the seat circuit since when you sit back into the seat and buckle the seat belt the starter circuit has no relation to seat circuit.
