My circuit board is beyond repair and the same part number on the board can be had at a New Holland store close to me. What no one can answer is if the NH board will work in the JD which uses a different engine and possibly sensors. Its almost half the price for a NH, would like to save about $750 if I can. I have this thread running on the JD forum.

There are a few issues that may pop up such as, RPM not accurate, Engine preheat cycle might be different but there are two selections available on the NH board. Engine oil pressure is something else to check out, but as long as the engine oil pressure sender works the same way between the NH and JD there should be no issue there.
If your panel has silver color trim lines there is not much you can do but replace it. The gold color trim panels can be rebuilt. Ag-Express in Sulphur Springs IN can rebuild them, I know there have been posts stating they no longer repair them, but I called after I saw these posts and they still repair them, however you may need to send the panel to their IA facility. They will not rebuild silver trim panels.
If you have a silver trim panel you need to be carefull that you order the correct panel. NH offers a "kit" to replace the silver panels. If you order just the panel that is listed the panel will not fit into the opening. The "kit" is just a panel made to fit the original opening. The 667 price you quoted in your posts appears to be for the "kit." NH does have rebuilt panels but there is not that much difference in price.
I can not remember, but I think we did sell a NH board for a JD.

Thanks Mike10, I'm planning on doing my repair in other week and will post the results of what I do. Thank you for your info.

bought a JD board and its not working, engine will not run for more than 1 second. Will run all day in service mode. I believe something is not set up on the new board but the dealership claims there's nothing to do, its plug and play. Will update my thread on the JD side of site. Thanks Pete

I think I would replace the start interlock relay located in the engine fuse and relay panel. That is the way they act when they fail. As for not being able to change the configuration you may not be following the correct steps. If your service manual only shows the early version of the panel, the silver outlined one, you need to get the instructions for the later panel. If your service manual is up to date it will show both panels and how to configure them.

Thanks for the info, your probably right, the service manual is outdated. Hopefully the dealership can help me out. Will update my progress.

I was told that the starter relay is in the instrumentation board. I'm up and running. After getting an updated installation instruction guide and with the help from some fine JD service managers, I was able to find my voltage signal problem and get the board to accept all the setup parameters. I would still like to know if the board is the same and only differs by the engine code setup. If NH uses numbers other than 02 or 06 for the code it might be possible. I went with better safe than sorry. Could not find anyone who did this only guesses.
