Hi everyone :) One of my potential customers has expressed a great need to a brush cutter on the bobcat. My inexperienced bobcat sales person says the standard flow 753 like we have will not run a bush hog. Bobcat says my machine has 15 GPM at 3000PSI at full throttle on the Aux side. I have been researching the web and found several brush cutter attachments claiming wonderful things from the feeble flow. Here is one of those cutters: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261408959106?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT There is a good demand for bush hoggin bobcats in my area and I really need to get this to work however, I don't want to buy a attachment that will just end up being a expensive piece of yard art. Thanks in advance for all your wonderful wisdom :)

There are lots of members on this site running bush hogs with standard flow machines. A high flow machine will give you more power, but with 15 gpm and 3000 psi, you have 26.3 hp available to run your bush hog. Not much different than running one with an 8N Ford tractor.

Is it possible to rent one locally first? That way you would only be out a days rent if it didn't work out. Also be advised that cutting brush is hard on tires, so be prepared for flats. Foam filled tires would be the answer if you plan on doing a lot of brushing.

Thank you Skid :) Thank you Reaper :) Yes, I can rent one for a day. Prolly a weekend if I can get things to line up? Foam filled tires: This is true. And something that I have not really looked into much. However, I can see the real need for this. Can anyone recommend me the best way to get into a set of foam filed tires? I have really good tires now. I dont know if it would be a mistake or not to foam fill them? Or, should I try to find a high wear set for the foam filling or? I really hate to lose the traction tho. I hate chains and I can not afford tracks. Best I remember, I can get the tires foam filled for $35 each. Its been a while sense I looked into it and I may be off on those prices? Thank you both again for your sharing your infinite wisdom :)

I would not foam fill the tires you have if they are in really great shape. See if you can find a used set on Craigslist (or Kijiji if you are in Canada).
