i have a bobcat 751 skid steer, when i try to start it, it tries to jump forward and still will not start.

Your neutral atjustment is all out of wack then. Jack it up and put it on blocks. Get in and unlock the parking brake then try to start the engine. If you get it running take note of which way the wheels on each side are trying to turn. You will then need to read up on setting neutral. The engine has a hard time starting because essentually you are starting it under load.

Thanks man i'll try that. Do you know any websites that tell how to set neutral? I've looked on google, but nothing is really coming up. I'd appreciate it. Dennis

And when you meet Old Machinist give him a thanks.
Here you can download a manual for most bobcat models
Search "neutral" and you will find the tips there. Sometimes if the wear parts are too worn you can flip them over or you may need to invest in some new parts.
