Hello all: I bought my Bobcat 753 in October of 2001. It has always started great and I have never had to take it in for service. I do a yearly service myself and after changing the oil and the fuel filter I cannot get it started. I bled the air and pumped up the bulb as recommended. It tries to start but quickly dies. The battery is new and it turns over quickly. I have just put fresh fuel in it. I didn't touch anything but the oil and fuel filters. I have changed this filter many times and never had any issues with restarting the engine.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this? I wonder if it is just a coincidence that something else has gone south at the same time. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated .

Thank you,

I have found the problem! The vent plug (valve) at the fuel injection pump has a round handle similar to an outside hose faucet, only much smaller. I turned this until it stopped to bleed the air. Today I found the the handle was turning but not the threaded shaft. It came off of the shaft, So I put a nut under it and tried to bleed it again and it started right up!

Thank you to all who offered their advice.
