New on sight hope someone can help me out- older 743b- I have hydraulic hook ups for my backhoe which is by right lever detent this system won't work with this blade-the left and right action of the 6 way blade operates as soon as it is engaged in the detent position-oppisite direction when revesrse hoses.Cat blade is electric over hyraulic for the other 4 movements- 12v.. My question is does anyone know how I can make this machine work with the 6 way blade? thanks for the help

As you know, it uses electric over hydraulic dirverters. You will need to run wires into the machine attached to switches for functions. You need a way to operate seperate functions as you don't have thumb switches on the older 743 machines.

I have a quick attach control harness with button controls to add to the machine-just using a jumper box now to figure out the system, the wiring will be simple to me, the hydraulics is where I having problems. The Catterpillar blade just has 2 line hook up-as soon as you move to engage drive lever/detent blade moves to left without pushing anything else-the left and riht movements are hydraulic and the other 4 movements are electric over hydaulic- I'm thinking I need some kind of three way valve on the machine to engage other than the one on the lever anything would help at this point-didn't pay alot for the blade and it may have maybe 2 hours of time on before I got it-new condition-thanks

I would guess you would have to install a switch for each function, and when switch is activated move the auxiliary lever left or right as needed to move the hydraulic cylinder.

I have 4 of the functions working-they are electric 12v two wire each reversing the polarity to operate both ways.I have switches to make this work. On my hydraulic quick connects there is no working presure untill right hand lever is in detent position (to the right) when this is done and blade is connected blade starts going left with hydraulics with nothing pushed other than detent of couse i can reverse hoses and go the other direction, but with no control-the left and right functions of the blade cylinder are strickly hydraulic as of now-thats the way it came-other 4 function are electric over hyd. my question is how can i make my machine have constant working presure without detent and have control on right and left hydraulics?any sugestions

You will see the cat blade in the classifieds for sale-its made for a newer machine than the older 743. Its going to cost about 1700.00 for control valves to make this work correctly- it will plug and play on a newer model Thanks anyway-acman

There is no way to get constant flow without holding the the right lever to the right. As its just a blade, why do you need oil flowing to it at all times? why not just when you need to adjust the angles? it will lower heat production and give you more power to the wheels as its not being 'wasted' at the attachment simply flowing back to the tank.
I can't see it costing that much to get going, especially if it has the coils already, simple switches connected to the coils would get it working. You want to tilt to the right, engage the switch then operate the right stick.

see your point in a way but its like the front bucket you always have to keep adjusting with the terrain=I think more so with a blade, The cat blade is built pretty stout and heavy,my 743 is not stout enough with out adjusting blade.I have wide flotation tires half full of water and when I lift the blade up its like having a bucket full of rocks. I dont know if i need constant flow but when its hooked up you push lever to the right/engage presure blade goes all the way to right and stays thats it unless i disconnect hose couplers switch hoses around ( the two connected to machine)then if you engage again blade goes all the way to the left no adjustment at all. when the blade is on its way to the stuck position thats the only time the other 4 functions work. I looked at another skid steer it has like 6 hydraulic couplers on the machine with 2 electrical 12v multi wire plugs. I guess I'll go and talk to the cat dealer on Monday see if he know anything thanks
