So i finally had to sign up and post, i have found just about every piece of info i have needed yet on this forum so i will start with a tanks to every one. i just bought as 731 and it runs great for about ten mins then the left side starts to get weak and eventually the left side has no power. i changed the main filter and cleaned the brass filter with no change. so after talking to a local bobcat tech he said to dead head the pump and see if it stalls out the motor at half throttle the left side would just growl and do nothing while the right hand side stalled it out. so i pulled the pump. after disassembling the pump i didn't find what i was expecting no really any signs of wear but some minor scratches on the wafer plate that don't really catch your nail. I am going to wet sand the wafer plates and reassemble the pump the. the problem i am having is finding the serial number on the pump. i have a local distributer that can get the parts but needs to know the serial number. any help is appreciated and any insight into my problem would be great thanks.

Have you checked the chain case oil level lately? I would think it is more a drive motor problem if the innards of the pump looked good.

The pump should be a vickers TA1919 pump it should be on the front pump housing before the hydraulic pump.
Even small marks in the wear plates will reduce the power. Check the relief valves too while it's out, ensure the springs aren't broken.

so i kinda feel like a idiot. i cleaned the housings really good and found the numbers under some paint. while i was cleaning the wear plates i noticed on the weak side that theres a wear groove all the way around in line with the valve openings, to deep to sand out so its gonna get new ones hopfully it works good when i am done have lots of yard work planed for this thing.

Yep, those marks are what cause the issues.
Loader parts source or metro fluid power will get them for you at the rite price. Just ensure you get the correct one, there is one left handed one right handed. Note the opening in the plate and there is a small milled groove at one end that is about 1/4" long and not all the way through. It must match what you take out.
They cost me about $50 each last time i got them.

was thinking of phoning loader parts source, i have phone around to a couple local Vickers suppliers and no luck so for and the bobcat dealer can only get the Rh wear plate and i need the left.
next question i was going to fill the system with bobcat oil for hydraulic fluid, is there any issue when renting attachments if another machine just uses normal hydraulic fluid or engine oil.

Loader parts source or metro fluid power on the net. They are actually cheaper than LPS.
As for oil, on a machine of that age, honestly i wouldn't bother with bobcat oil. There is always an oil debate going on. Engine oils have additives suited to engines, not hydraulic systems, but i have never had any issues. From memory hydraulic AW46 grade? is very close to the required thickness for the pumps.
In the end, it's your call which way you go. When you hire attachments, you will have no idea what oil was in the before, it will never only be bobcat oil, so you will have some moxing there. There is nothing you can really do about it.

Well i found a local guy that had every part for that pump in stock and was very helpful. The one thing he recommended was to lap the cylinders which makes sense. i am going to take a straight edge to them and see if they need it.
oh and it turns out both wear plates were the same someone must have had this thing apart before, my supplier said that would have been why that side was so noisy.

I'm surprised it worked actually.
I'ts not a bad to give the rotating group a small touch up, then you know both surfaces are nice and flat.
