If anyone is interested I repowered my bobcat after doing a complete overhaul ,new paint,tires and just installed a high flow second set of aux lines . It was original with a mitsu 32hp gas that was blown up. I found an izuzu C223 diesel, machined the flywheel to fit and installed an external governor since the engine was in a truck and designed for a 4200rpm redline. I have put 400 hours on new setup with great results. Lots of extra is nice to have.

These isuzu engines (c201) from refers are fantastic little engines, I have one in my 620 and its quite the powerhouse. It does make the machine a little tail heavy but it sure is fun and economical. Only thing you really have to worry about is the direction of rotation for the main hydrostat, on the 620 i had to run the coupling off the front damper pully. Its a very worthwhile repower in my opinion.

Found a c201 for my 642. The previous owner took a bolt cutter to the wiring harness. Any help with wiring or were to find a manual for this engine would be a great help.
I bought an IH 3200B last week that was repowered with the C201 Isuzu. The seller had done the repower and when done found the Isuzu to be way too weak and lost his human drive after having done so much work. So now I have it. It seems to run very well at idle, but under load (even tilting the bucket) it bogs the engine horrible. I was running it today trying some things. I notice if I have it at say ½ throttle open and tilt bucket and it starts to bog engine if I open the throttle it makes no real difference in the engine trying to power up against the load. Therefore I sense I have a fuel or injection pump issue. I can open the throttle and get RPM increase but that is with no load. With load it will never power up on throttle increase change. Would sure love to review the fuel line routing, etc with someone. Also, I noticed it has no lift pump and the fuel tank is below the engine a few feet. Is the injection pump made to draw fuel from below itself does anyone know?

I am purchasing a 642 with conversion to a diesel from a Toyota ( Hilux ) ? . Have no idea what size it is ....1.6 or 1.8 would be my guess. The engine sticks out further but can still close the back door. Current owner is a HD Mechanic who does this kind of stuff just for the challenge. ( He just finished throwing in a small diesel engine into an older GMC 1 Tonne dually. Underpowered for sure. But it is just for flat work and no hauling. ) Whether it is a 642 or 642B I would assume is irrelevant at this point,but don't know. My question is ..... Which is the best manual for me as a complete newbie to bobcat ownership ? And what format? Good old paper,CD....? Basically no mechanical aptitude,but a willingness to learn to use all the tools I have amassed over the decades, to maintain and/or fix this older back saver 
Some experience in maintaining and changing fluids/filters. Best to return borrowed items in same or better shape than when they arrived. Cheaper than a rental and guaranteed to be able to borrow again. Lucky for me the seller is only 15 miles away so I can get help if/when necessary. Will be taking delivery in the next week and then can provide serial numbers...for proper ID, year,model #... as long as the plates are still there and legible. Jumping the gun a little,but I'm excited to finally have my own. Been borrowing a 743 and Case 90XT to do my hobby farm jobs for years. Now I'll be able to manage snow clearing to horse poop scooping any time I want !

I prefer CD manuals, no greasy fingerprints to worry about. Thanks for the idea. Print what I need then the rest is on the CD. When I get the machine I will post photos of the installed engine. I had nothing to do with the conversion, just reaping the benefits of a more powerful engine and of course from gas to diesel. Still haven't got the Bobcat yet but went to see how it is progressing. Found out a couple things while I was there. It is a Clark 632 ,1977-80 model year;went from a 30 hp gas to a 1980 62 hp diesel out of a Toyota 2wd. Tim Allen would be proud ! The rear door was extended about 4-5 inches to accommodate the more rear protruding engine. I was concerned about the extra power but was told there are safety releases for the hydraulics. If I try to lift too much they will kick in. I'm guessing it has to do with tipping load or working pressure/volume of pumps. This rear end weight will make it very light on the front end. ( Calcium filled fronts ?? ) I'm going to run a bale spear set up for round bales so it will be light when not loaded. The piston or ram that runs the bucket is not original and is about 1 inch short so cannot get 100 % vertical drop on bucket. There isn't any safety bar either,just a seat belt. ( Where do I find used parts ? ) Not sure how these threads work so if this is inappropriate please let me know. I'm just sharing and looking for information re:632 Clark
