Hi, i did get the air out of the oil thanks for the help. Now I'm looking at the cooling system, i do not have manuals on this engine i found the ones for the 642 with the ford engines. This bobcat does not have a thermostat in the system, I believe in can go anywhere from 180-190 deg thermostat but was wandering if anyone knows if it is a offset or centered thermostat. i believe the thermostat is in the upper Radiator hose where it connects to the engine. On this motor i think the temp sensor is below the thermostat housing which sets on the right side of the motor. I think while i have it drained going to put a temp gauge sensor in so the oil pressure and engine temp will not be on the same warning light. If anyone has a manual for a Mitsubishi engine would by helpful.

88c is the temp. in centigrade which would be in the 180 ish F. range.

Here is a link to the parts catalog:

A lot of the time you can find the Bobcat part number and do a search on-line and find aftermarket parts.

Also, I always check Bobcat for the parts. Sometimes they still have some in stock for the older machines but you have to be careful of the price. Some items are a fair price and others are extremely high. Free shipping on orders over $99.

Mitsubishi likes to make things that are just odd sizes, I know belts for their trucks back in the 1990s were a 1/2 size in-between so that a Napa belt either set too low in a pully or too high, oil and air filters could be bought from Napa though, however windshield wipers came from Mitsubishi.

That's a generic 600 series thermostat. I have the bobcat 642 the ford version and went through this whole deal with the bobcat dealer. First round they gave me that unit. I guess it can go in any of the 600 series units motors is what I was told. The actual one for the ford version opens at 190 degrees.
The actual mitch. Motors opens around same. Along with diesel motors so that one will work. Operation temps are 170-220 degrees but bobcat dealer says you usually don't want to see them much over 200 degrees but can expect 205-210 on very hot days and expect to let the units to cool/take breaks on hot days... when you start pushing the 220 range that's when you get warped heads.... figured I better share this info because it was some of the most frustrating info to find on the 642 series. There was alot vague info out there.
