I have a 642b Bobcat that has a transmission light on; I have replace the hydraulic filter and checked that sensor. But I would like to know where the charge pressure sensor; the trans temp sensor (fluid temp) are located along with the oil pressure sensor. The oil pressure light does not come on with the ignition key turned on?
Raising the bucket and lower it does not effect the transmission light. Working the Bobcat hard does not have any problems except the idiot light.
Should I ignore it till I do have symptoms ? Thank you for your help John
 
I have an 89 642 with the Ford motor. Not sure if it is the same, but the hydraulic pressure sender is below the control valve on an aluminum block. The temperature sender, if I remember correctly, is on the main hydraulic pump right at the front.

Also. If the oil pressure lamp does not light up when you first turn the key on, it is probably a wiring issue, which is very common on our old bobcats.

My old 742 had burned out bulbs for the warning lights. The bulbs in mine were replaceable but not easy to find.

I have a 86' 642 with kent ford motor. I have to confirm Zeke those are my location for sending units. As far as ignoring the lights that's always a gamble. You could have a value going bad or broken spring and they don't always show up really noticeable symptoms. When unsure check it out. You can always get a cheap set of line pressure gauges and laser temp reader to troubleshoot it.
These are old dog machines so it's also not surprising if there may be some wiring issues that may cause it. Some of those issue can be a long road of discovery and easier to ignore. It's just all up to you and the chance you want to take and are you willing to fix it if you ignore it and it breaks.
