I bought a 2001 236 cat last Dec. It has 2500 hours on the meter. I started and ran it all winter without a problem. The last two times I went to start it up it would crank and crank and not start. I pumped the crap out of the throttle and I got it to start and run. After I got it running it ran just fine with no problems. It had just been serviced before I bought it. It has no leaks and has all new filters. I checked the fuses and everything was good. It also has a new battery in it. I was thinking the fuel pump was bad but how could that be if it runs well after I get it started. It has a cat 3034 motor in it. Does anyone have any Idea what is going on with this machine?

I know mine starts a lot better cycling glow plugs for 10 seconds or so. Your glow plugs ok?

Check all fuel lines, make sure the are tight.sounds like losing prime. If you think it is shut-off solenoid.remove it and see if it starts better.if it does will have to stick something in hole and push stop

All the fuel lines are tight and look good no seeping. I will try the shut-off solenoid next. Thanks
