Just looking for any advice.. tried starting my 863 today an it would only crank an puff black smoke, checked fuel solenoid an it seemed to be working, checked glow plugs for fire an they had fire, dropped fuel filter an no water in fuel, pulled air filter to check for any blockages, cranked over machine with an injector cracked an it was squirting fuel.... machine just act as if its not wanting to fire! I ran the machine digging a trench 3 weeks ago an like always it fired up every time an gave me no troubles. This is the first timessince owning it that its ever done this to me... even checked timing belt to make sure it didn't back off on tension an it was fine. Kinda new to this any information would be greatly appreciated thanks Adam

Did you run it dry?Try cracking #1 full injector and see if you have diesel coming out.

Black smoke? that sounds like it's burning the fuel a bit, unburnt fuel is white.
Is this a deutz oil cooled engine?

I'd check the fuel transfer pump. The engine will usually still run if the pump is completely out, but will have no power. Yours could be a little low on compression and that could be why it won't fire. The injector pumps will draw fuel, that's why you see it, just no enough.
