Hi fellas Well, I broke my rear left axle yesterday. Dont know how, it just went crunch as I was moving some rocks. Is this common or is something wrong with my machine to be doing this. Ive never heard or seen a axle break on any skidsteers. Ive just bought it and replaced all the oils and filters. Its got a 3 cylinder perkins in it and seems to run great but the right side drive is also a bit sluggish. So now I need an axle and I was thinking of replacing the drive clutches as well. Also where is a good source for manuals for these things. Thanks for any help, im in Western Australia.

I guess a broken axle isn't an impossible thing to do, but i agree that it is rare. It could have been a machining flaw that took years to finally break. I'd put it down to one of those things that just happens.
Not sure where to find a manual for it, have you checked ebay? i wonder what they dealer would wnat for one if still available.....
If it's done with clutches, have you asked if you can get someone to re-bond brake material to them?

Cool thanks Tazza. I havent got into the chain cases yet, but the idea of relining the clutches is an idea if I cant get new, but I think it maybe a john deere part as well, not sure.
