What do these have for normal temps? It has the ford v4. What's the temp of the Thermostat? I think in running hotter than normal. I do have a Aftermarket guage.

is your rad's clean, both sides?
what weight oil are you running?/
and is it syn oil or basic Dino oil ,
and in what AIR temps??
how old is the coolant??

these things can have effect on how hot things get as well as others!
but many times we over look them and then to think bigger issues?
so never hurts to ask these basic ??' S IMO

I think you should run a coolant pressure test to elimaniate a head gasket issue, cause bubbling should not happen at 190 with green coolant. really it should not happen with water until 212.

IF you have a head gasket leak, as possible, you should also notice either color and smell of exhaust, and or be checking oil to see if any sign of coolant getting into it as well!

The Owatonna parts book lists both 13 and 7 psi radiator caps for the torque convertor and 13 psi for the variable. No mention of thermostat that I could find. The Ford parts book lists the thermostat as 155 and 160 (Ford C5JZ-8575-B) degrees for all years. If you cross the Ford number, it crosses to Stant or Gates 180 degrees. Napa lists the 160 degree version as line code THM part number 18.

Your FLAPS will carry a combustion gas leak kit for about $50. I've used them with success in the past.

Good luck,
