Hi, I have a 91 Bobcat 642b with a Mitsubishi 4g32 Gas engine with a Mikuni-Solex carb. Does anyone know what car I can cross reference so I can purchase a carb rebuild kit at Napa or Autozone?(some car must of run the same carb) Does anyone know the model #/part# of the Solex carb that was used on the Mitsubishi 4g32 engines so I could do some investigational work and to find the cars it was used in? (I haven't taken mine off yet to look for numbers). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here are a couple of pages from the Standard Motor Products catalog. You're going to have to find the number on the carb.

To rebuild your carb you need two kits from your local parts store. The first kit is 10454b parts master, it has the the correct top gasket and two o rings for the pri pilot jet and the other for fuel cut-off. the other kit is 10702a parts master, for needle and seat and all other parts needed. Hope this helps Kevin

Old Machinist,
Please can you guide me to where I would find out where carb number(s) would be found. All I can find on my carb is of course the SOLEX MUKUNI CORP JAPAN markings.

Did you ever find the carb markings? I can't find anything on mine either. Pretty sure they are not there. Its probably a Bobcat spec carb

I'd give up on finding a number--I don't think it was ever there--the carb is somewhat custom for Bopbcat. Follow the earlier advice on the two carb kits, or dig around the forum elsewhere for similar advice with different manufacturers of 2 carb kits. Doesn't seem to get any better than that, unfortunately. And I note that your carb lacks the sight glass that you are supposed to look at and verify that the fuel level is in the middle of it. I looked everywhere including buying several dodge colt shop manuals and none had a float height level. Finally adapted a $100 Ebay Dodge Colt carb (good write-up by others elsewhere on the forum) pending either finding a body with the sight glass, or experimenting to get the float height right.

Just a note about the Mikuni carbs. They were not just used in Bobcat machines. I actually had a brand new one that I sold a few years ago that was overstock from a forklift company. I believe it was Clark forklifts. Quite a few machinery companies used the Mitsubishi 4G32 for small equipment. It seems that the newer carbs did not have the site glass. Neither of mine did and I never found any number on them either.

There was a listing in the forum somewhere that showed the two different kits that were needed to get all the parts to do a rebuild. If you dig deep enough they may still be on here.
