From what you describe, it is likely the problem. How does the bottom of the cap look? Are there any carbon tracking marks? Please give us an update when you get it running. Tim in Mass

    Snow tires

I have an M600, which is similar to your machine. I put some chains on the rear wheels and they work well. I bought a new old stock set of chains on eBay. I think they were intended for an old army jeep, but they fit perfectly. They were around $50, if I remember correctly. Tim in Mass

Bobcat 610 - I have no variable speed (literally!).

I would not put it to max fast. You would not have much pushing power. At minimum speed it is verrrrry slow. I vote for 1/3 to 1/2, if you had to fix the speed. -Tim in Mass

I would suggest pulling some of the sheet metal cooling baffles to have a look for mouse nests. My M610 had a big nest and it overheated and wrecked the engine. It badly detonated, with melted pistons, it was not pretty. Also make sure all the baffles are in place, it looks like you are missing...

DannyTheVito, from what you describe, likely your problem is the points. When the sit for a long time they get a slight coating of oxide on their faces and there is little to no current flow to the coil. I have had new, but old, points that needed a slight polish before they would work. Fold up...

    just bought my first M600

The lift rod measures at 1.250" and the tilt measures at 1.00". I had to start it up and lift the arms to tilt the blade so I could measure the tilt cylinder. It is about 30 degrees and it started right up. I think I may have woken up a neighbor, their light just turned on... -Tim in Mass
