S175 axle bearing & cup replacement Questions

Well, this turned into a frustrating project. I had new outer bearings packed and pressed onto the axle shafts. I installed new races in the axle tubes. I froze them overnight in the freezer then I made a threaded rod assembly with some 2.25" oversized washers to seat them fully. What a pain in...

S175 axle bearing & cup replacement Questions

These phone keep getting larger every year. No, luckily the phone was an inch longer than the width of the front chaincase opening. The teardown is complete. Two 6 ton bottle jacks did the trick and a 6' long piece of 3/4" emt knocked out the races. Both outside bearings were toast. I just have...

    Parking Brake Light Flashing

I'm not sure if the cold has anything to do with this problem but after jumping my S175, the parking brake light continues to flash. Machine is fully operational. Any ideas?

    S-175 axle seal replacement

Thanks Tazza. Just for my benefit, I bought the service manual for the machine. I read through the instructions and found that re-assembling requires the hub bolt to be torques to 750-800 ft. #'s?!!! Looks like I'll need a 4' bar and my 200# a$$ jumping on it. However, the manual doesn't state...

    S-175 axle seal replacement

Great, thanks for the reply. If the bearings are good, does the axle have to slide out in order to replace the seal or can it easily be removed with a seal puller? What do you guys use to re-insert the seal? Piece of pipe?

    S-175 axle seal replacement

I bought a used S-175 that needs an axle seal replacement. How hard of a job is it and 1> should I replace bearings as well? 2. Should I do all 4 corners?

    S185, S205, S250, S300

I currently have an older 763 with close to 4,000 hours. Open cab, standard controls, auxiliary hydraulics. I recently stopped into my local bobcat dealer to price a new machine (S-570) then quickly walked out the door in sticker shock. My thoughts are now on a low hour, used machine with a cab...

    763 replacement

It is a nice machine but I've started putting money into it. New fuel pump pick-up tube, new motor mounts, a couple of new hydraulic hoses, new belts. Time for something a little newer and a little more lift height would be nice.
