I wanted to share an interesting thing I found on a Case skid steer with joystick controls. While checking the functions of the machine I noticed when pressing the auxiliary hydraulic proportional switch on the right joystick and the power quick attach release switch the quick attach would not release. I also noticed switching from "ISO" to "H" was intermittent. From reading the manual the proportional switch has to be in the neutral position in order for the control pattern to be switched. I started back probing wires testing continuity from the switch to the plug connector. The second wire I tested showed no continuity so I took the plastic cover at the base of the joystick off to find the wire loom for the proportional switch was pinched and nearly every wire in that loom was damaged. Some of the wires didn't appear damaged but a slight tug could break them in half. I put splices in and all functions are working now. I'm going to see what I have to replace whether it be the handle itself with harnesses or if I can get just get the group of switches and the harness for those switches. I will try to remember to post what parts I had to buy. I hope this helps someone having difficulty with joystick controls.
