OK this may seem like a no brain er.....but i want to confirm my hunch First of all i bought a after market grapple.....it took some re-hosing...but after i first tried it.....i got a hydraulic filter restriction light and alarm on 1500 rpms or higher when i idled it down...it went away.....didn't do it again for couple of months....then started doing it randomly a different rpms. asked JD dealer ship for trouble shooting....they are clueless....just farm machinery experts. i odered new light bulbs....going on two years. then it quit......so keep working.......now its cold outside.....and its happen everytime i rev up.....now i am thinking to change the hydraulic filter.......now my manual is like not helpful....and i was told to get a service manual....yeesh....why didn,t get that in the first place. anyhow. now before i order a filter....which hopefully wont be a chore.....is there any other filter..that i should change....also......just wondering if another type of hyd fluid from the grapple reacted to my hyd...as my hyd is same as my engine oil.....tier 3..special JD stuff I really dont want to fuck my baby up.....and its several hours to the nearest dealer ship. and they can change oil real good. any ideas will help.

I would change the filter. We did have a problem with a 250 when they changed micron ratings on filters

yup my first on the check list thanks just ran my skidsteer for eight hours......moving hay round bales to feed animals and pushing snow.....not hvy snow and not a burb, hiccup or any hyd filter restriction light or alarm. weird.......now it may not do again for a month....6 months or it might do it tomorrow. you would figure if you have a dirty or plugged or filmed over filter the light would stay on with any motor speed above idle or even at idle. will post results and might as well do a full service......chores are done for the week

How many hours do you have on the unit. Hydraulic filter is recommend every 500 hours. Also I'd check the wiring going to the sensor which should be on the hydraulic filter head. They are getting better, but Deere doesn't do a very good job on the wiring on their skidsteers.

If that's not a understatement. Oil temp affects the light also at least it did on our 250. It always was on the edge of the light coming on and cold oil would turn it on

Thats the problem I have complelely changed the Hyd fluid figuring the grapple fluid that was in it might of being the problem and it was still doing it Then i let the beast run for half hour after i moved around for 10mins and she never gave me a issue worked perfect and during the summer i dont recall any alarm Your a saint......the john deere techs will be chatted to to see what the this may cause for problems maybe they need to add a heater...or circulation pump hate to need to idle for hours at -30c I plug her in but that didn't alleviate the alarm....at -10c.....overnight plugged thanks merry xmas farmshop

You may want to see if you can get a coarser micron filter with less restriction. On our 250 it was as simple as using a older part number
