T190 tracks rubbing cover

Hello. I am new to the site but not new to my machines. Hopefully I can get some thoughts here and I will be able to offer some wisdom in the future. I have a T190 that I just put new tracks on. THey seem to be rubbing hard against the protective cover about the drive motor hoses. Is that right or do I have an adjustment problem?? It is almost like the brakes are constantly on?? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You need new sprokets. Tracks and sprokets are suppose to be replaced as a set to keep wear even, but don't feel bad, nobody does. I have seen them worn so bad, the inner guild fingers on the track where wearing a groove into the hub of the sproket.

sorry I should have mentioned that...I did replace the sprockets at the same time. That is why it just doesn't seem to make sense???

I don't want to be rude, cheap tracks? I have never seen a rubbing problem with new sprokets, the track has to be sitting too low in the sproket lobe. I can't figure how any of the other rollers wear could bother. Maybe the back one if worn way down, bu thtat would be a new one for me.

We could say less expensive tracks! lol Seemed to be from a reputable company though. They (both tracks and sprockets) came from Prowler Industries. Any idea what the proper spacing is between the cover and the track?

Clearnce is close at best. It is not uncommon for those covers to be worn. If they are savable, I lay beads of weld to build them and grind back smooth. Stupid things are about $150 each. As for track tension. I go about a finger width between the 2nd roller if it has 3, 3rd if it has 4. I think you would have to have that cranked tight to rub. However if they are to tight, they cause noticable drag.

THanks for the thoughts. I am thinking they are too tight and will loosen them up a bit and see.
