Hi Guys,
I had a metal line blow out that drives the boom on the "passenger" side of the LS 185B behind the fender. That's where all the mulch, leaves dirt ect builds up and holds moisture then rusts the lines. I have gotten both ends of both lines undone (one at control valve and the other at the hose end) but am not sure how to get those crazy bent tubes out. Will the cab need to be raised? I'm hoping not or i will have to tow it in to finish repairs. Any help would be great,
TIA
Steve

The line should come out without raising the cab. You may need to remove the steering pod on that side to get enough wiggle room to get it out. Have you removed the line clamp where the line exits the cab area?

Yes i removed the plastic clamp. Are you speaking about thebracket holding the control rod with the rubber boot and Aux handle on it?

PS with enough wiggle room do the tubes come out the front or side of machine?

That was the clamp I was talking about and the handle is the one you described. To remove, take out the center panel between your legs which has eight 3/8" bolts, disconnect the aux handle rod which goes to the control valve, remove the two springs, one on each side, from the neutralizing arms, remove the bolts that hold the bearings to the steering pods, on each side, for the neutrlizing cross shaft, lift the neutralizing cross shaft out. disconnect the rod going to the hydro pump, find and disconnect the wiring connector, remove the five 3/8" bolts holding the pod to the frame, remove the pod and handle assy.
The line should go out the side and I would replace both if they are severly corroded.

Thanks Mike...they are both corroded and I imagine the other side is too. The time repair manual was saying 1.5 hr to replace so i sorta figured the cab wouldn't need to be raised but i sure was scrathin my head trying to get those tubes free,

Mike 10 ..if you see this ..Big Thanks...it came out just as you described. at first glance it's a little imposing looking at all the fasteners and linkages but was actually very simple once i understood,
